Terms of use

The ground rules.

By using Spurta you agree to these terms. They're written to be read.

Spurta's safety features help, but they aren't an emergency service. An SOS, a fall alert or a missed check-in only reaches your contacts if your phone has signal and battery, and if they see it in time. Fall detection can miss a fall or raise a false alarm. In an emergency, call your local emergency number first.

Your account

What you share

Your activities, photos, routes, posts and messages stay yours. By sharing them in Spurta you give us permission to store them, show them to the people your settings allow, and make the copies needed to run the service (for example, backups and map previews). That permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies others already made, such as a message you sent.

Be decent

You can report anything that breaks these rules. We may remove content or suspend accounts that do.

Health and training

Training plans, readiness, pace targets, the spike guard and the run window are general guidance, not medical advice. Check with a doctor before starting a new training programme, especially if you have a health condition, and stop if something hurts. Run where it's safe and legal to, and watch the road, not your phone.

Safety features

Safety alerts and Live Trail depend on your phone, its battery, its connection, the email or text services in between, and the people you chose. We work hard to make them reliable but can't promise every alert arrives or arrives in time. Choose contacts who agree to it and can act, and tell them what to do if they hear from Spurta.

Spurta Plus

Our part

We'll keep Spurta running and improve it, and we may change or remove features. If we remove something you pay for, we'll tell you and offer a fair refund for the time left. You can export your data at any time from Settings.

Ending things

You can delete your account at any time (how). We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, and we'll tell you why unless the law or someone's safety stops us.

Liability

Spurta is provided as it is. As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect losses, or for injury or loss arising from running, training or relying on the safety features. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law where you live, or our liability where the law doesn't allow it to be limited.

Questions about these terms: [email protected]. If we change them, we'll update the date at the top and tell you in the app about anything important.
